Stairwell Access — Executive Level

A metal door at the back of the Engineering Bay stands slightly ajar, its security panel dark.
The surge that rolled through the tower must have tripped its lock—this is the only known route upward now that the elevator refuses to move past Floor 30.

The stairwell beyond is narrow and industrial, lit by emergency strips that flicker with unstable power.
Each step you take echoes upward, the concrete warm in places where wiring runs beneath the risers.

Halfway up the first flight, a service tag hangs from the railing:

“Executive Access — Floor 31 Only.
Authorized personnel: Vale, G.”

No one else should have been able to use this route tonight.

At the top of the stairs, a reinforced door marked 31 — Executive Access waits in silence, its reader offline but its mechanical latch still functional.

The air on the other side feels heavier—quiet in a way that suggests no one has entered since the moment Gordon fell.
